It’s really helpful for students, especially it is good for beginners A1-A2. Interesting story accompanied with audio guide helped me to learn a lot of new words. And the best part is that the book is written with real language used by locals. So it’s highly recommended if you want to learn Natuurlijk Nederlands!

Max’s method not only helped me to finally learn Dutch, but also to find the language more appealing. The stories he tells are very relatable to the expat life which made me feel understood and connected to the plots. With the basics I have now, I feel more comfortable communicating in Dutch wherever I go.

About me – Max Koedood

Since 2016, I teach languages. I am a multilingual Dutch teacher, author and philosopher.

I speak Dutch, English, Spanish, German, French and Persian – on different levels. I have learned these languages using books like ‘Nieuw in Rotterdam’. That’s why I wrote it.

Dozens of expats now speak Dutch naturally, and feel at home in The Netherlands.
